Thermosyphon system
In Thermosyphon water from the collector circulates from the tank to the collector and back to the tank by its own movement due to specific gravity difference between hot and cold water. Thermosyphon system can be recommended up to maximum 2500 liters capacity.
Forced Circulation System
In forced circulation system water is pumped from the cold water tank in to the collector with the help of the pump. The pump is set to start stop. Depending upon the temperature of the hot water in the collector. Once the temperature of the water in the collector reaches the desired level the pump automatically switches on and pumps the hot water to the hot water storage tank and collector is filled with cold water for the further heating cycle this cycle is repeated continuously till the water attains the set temperature. The hot water is stored in the hot water tank. In general this type of system is recommended before capacity greater than 3000 lpd.
Main components of Solar Water Heater :
Collector : We install the panel on a roof, which allows effective absorption of sunlight and conversion into heat. There are different types of collectors such as Flat-plate collectors and evacuated tube collectors.
Storage Tank : This tanks are useful to store the heated water for later use. This tank can either be integrated with the collector or can be kept separate.
Control Panel / Circulation pump which facilitates movement of water through the system.
Backup Heating system: This is generally powered by electricity or gas. This is especially useful when there is inadequate solar energy.
